Harold Vernon
Harold Vernon is a major character who debuted in Dawn Blossom. He is the childhood friend of Stella Lily, the older brother of Lyla Vernon, and cousin of Bruno.
Background
Harold was born and raised in Thistle Village. Throughout his childhood, he and his cousin Bruno would sometimes do jobs for criminals. He eventually learned how to fight and protect his siblings and cousins. He also acquired skills such as surveillance and street smart. He is childhood friends with Stella Lily who seems to have a crush on him.

Harold Vernon was laying down taking a nap when his sister Lyla brought his childhood friend Stella Lily to greet him. He hugged Stella Lily and they sat down to talk while Lyla served them drinks. Stella Lily explained that her self-portrait was stolen and requested his help in tracking it down. He happily agreed to help stating anything for her. Upon looking at the piece of silk that Stella Lily showed him, he concluded only one place sells silk and that place is Lizi Woods. He enlisted the help of his cousin Bruno. Together with Stella Lily, Lyla, and Bruno, they traveled to Lizi Woods. Upon arrival, the party decided to eat noodles at a nearby food vendor. After eating, he said he and Bruno will look around for information while Stella Lily and Lyla find an inn. Harold and Bruno go to a nearby store to see if it sells silk. After questioning a boy in the store, Harold learned that the largest building in the woods sells silk. With this information, he and Bruno go to the large building that sells silk. He goes inside while Bruno stays outside. Seeing the price tag of silk, he deduced that anyone who wears silk must have money. Instead of questioning the female receptionist, he decided to go look for a fancy restaurant. As he and Bruno were talking, a young man with jade-colored eyes walked past and then went back inside the building. Harold went to look for a fancy restaurant while Bruno followed the jade-eyes young man. He saw a few restaurants but decided to go to the one with a turquoise roof which matches the color of the piece of silk. Feeling hungry, he went into the restaurant and noticed that the staff all wore silk. The waitress served him his meal. As the waitress turned away, Harold tried to compare the color of the waitress's uniform against the piece of silk that Stella Lily had given him. The waitress quickly turned to Harold and smirked as she knew some foreigners were coming after her. Harold tried to pretend he was doing anything but it was no use. Realizing the waitress must be the thief, he asked her if she had any painting. She said she will answer his questions if he can defeat her in battle. Without much options, Harold decided to fight the waitress despite not wanting to. They both went outdoors and engaged in battle. Harold easily defeated the waitress even though the waitress transformed into a Tiger. After the battle, the waitress introduced herself as Mei and admitted to stealing Stella Lily's self-portrait with the help of a young man with jade-colored eyes. Harold and Mei made their way to the large building that sells silk. Along the way, they were joined by Bruno, and then eventually Stella Lily and Lyla. Harold explained the situation to his friends. Upon arriving at the large building with Stella Lily, Bruno, Lyla, and Mei. Mei led them into a large room. The party discovered that the self-portrait was stolen. Afterwards, Fen (who was the Rabbit from earlier) barged into the room and panicked when he saw Stella Lily and Lyla. Harold and Bruno deduced that the young man with jade-colored eyes had tricked Mei into stealing Stella Lily's self-portrait and had taken the self-portrait for himself. Harold stated they will go to the beach to find the jade-eyed young man when Stella Lily asked him what to do next. At night, he and Bruno slept in the same room while Stella Lily and Lyla slept together in another room. In the morning, he and his friends bade farewell to Mei and made their way southwest to the beach. Unbeknownst to everyone, they were being followed by Fen.
Harold Vernon arrived in Boluo Beach with Stella Lily, Lyla, and Bruno. When Stella complained of the heat, he suggested that she and Lyla go play in the water while he and Bruno look for something to eat. He frowned when he realized that Stella won't be swimming in a swimsuit. After Bruno ordered grilled shrimp and grilled pineapple with rice, Harold and Bruno ate the food along with Stella and Lyla. Harold explained that the food is pineapple and rice because Stella and Lyla didn't know what those were. A young man wearing a white tank top, brown shorts, and sandals bumped into Bruno, and Harold watched as the young man ran away. After eating, Harold explained the plan to the group. They are looking to see whether the jade-eyed young man is here at the beach or not. In order to accomplish this, he and Bruno will look for information. Stella asked if she and Lyla could help, but Harold advised that the girls should hang out at the beach. Harold and Bruno head to an open bar, but as Harold step into the open bar, a young man bumped into him and ran away. At the open bar, he and Bruno sat at a table and waited for someone to take their order. Realizing that no one will take their order, Harold decided to talk to the bartender. He asked the bartender for a coffee, but the bartender said they don't have coffee. Instead, Harold got pineapple juice and an energy drink. He was about to ask the bartender a question, but noticed that a tanned dude is walking up to him. The tanned dude confronted Harold for an unknown reason. Harold made fun of the tanned dude's hair which caused the bartender to laugh. The tanned dude stepped up and tried to punch Harold, but Harold dodged. This led to a fight between Harold and tanned dude. Harold was hit by a dark orange Fire Spellbomb, but didn't take much damage. Harold fought back with his own Spellbomb and defeated the tanned dude. The fight caused the bartender to yell at Harold which he apologized. During the fight, Harold learned that the bartender is named Ming, and the tanned dude is named Chang, and Chang and Ming are siblings. As Harold and Bruno were leaving the open bar, they overheard Chang saying something about Kang warning them about foreigners attacking their friend. Before leaving, Harold paid the drink. Harold is wondering whether Kang is the jade-eyed young man. Harold decided to look for Stella and Lyla, and asked Bruno to follow Chang and Ming to find out where the siblings live. Walking around the beach, Harold saw Stella and Lyla playing beach volleyball. He watched the game of beach volleyball until the end. Afterwards, he met up with Stella and Lyla and led the them to the local inn. At the inn, Harold asked for two rooms: one for himself and Bruno, and the other for the girls. After ordering two rooms, he led Stella and Lyla to their room. He then waited in the inn lobby for Bruno to come in. Bruno eventually met up with Harold at the inn. Harold suggested they go to their room to talk. He led Bruno to the girls' room. In the room, he listened as Bruno explained his findings to the group. Apparently, Fen from Lizi Woods lied to Chang that Fen was attacked for no reason by a group of light-skinned foreigners. This upset Stella which Harold calmed her down. Harold thinks that Kang is the jade-eyed young man, but he wants to confirm first. He explained that he and Bruno will find out more information tomorrow, but first he suggested that everyone eats and then go to sleep. He ordered four plates of grilled fish and pineapple for everyone. While eating, Lyla caught someone watching them, Harold and Bruno turned to see who it was, but the watcher was already gone. The following morning, Harold woke up around six o'clock. He brushed his teeth and got dressed. Bruno woke up afterwards. Harold and Bruno then go outside to Chang's and Ming's house which Bruno had located yesterday afternoon. Within a block of the house, Harold told Bruno to stand watch while he goes to the house to see if anyone's there. While crawling around the house, Harold was able to determine there were people inside. These people are presuming Chang and Ming. With this knowledge, he walks back to Bruno. He waited outside the house for someone to walk out. While he waited, Bruno left to get breakfast for them both. Harold waited for an hour, and finally Chang and Ming step out of their house. He followed Chang and Ming until a beaten up Goat came crawling to the siblings. Harold was surprised when Ming called the Goat by the name Kang. He then realized that Kang is not the jade-eyed guy. Kang pointed to Bruno, and behind Bruno were Stella and Lyla. Harold greeted Bruno, Stella and Lyla, and then have a conversation with them. This angered Chang. Chang then transformed into a Snake and tried to bite Harold. Ming transformed into a Horse and also tried to attack Harold. He dodged the Snake's Fire Fang, but was hit by the Horse's Fire Charge. Since Harold doesn't like to fight girls, he asks Stella and Lyla to fight Ming while he focuses on Chang. During the fight, Harold was able to defeat Chang with a Leaf Spellbomb. Stella and Lyla defeated Ming. After the fights, Harold began to question Chang, Ming, and Kang. After getting no answer, he said he and his friends can continue their attacks. This was enough to scare the locals. Harold asked about Fen, and Ming said Fen was supposed to help fight, but got scared and ran away. During the questioning, it was revealed by Ming that the jade-eyed guy went northwest to a farm. Harold thanked the locals, and went back to the inn along with Stella, Lyla, and Bruno. At the inn, Harold decided the next move is to go to the farm, but before they do so, he asked Stella if she wanted to go now or play in the beach a little longer. Stella didn't want to fall into the water again, so she decided that they should go the farm now. With that, Harold led the group out of the beach.
Harold led Stella Lily, Lyla, and Bruno to Shizi Farm. Stella pointed out that there are only three houses and no inn to sleep. Harold decided that they will camp. Stella was excited at this idea. He then led the group north of the farm to a nearby river. Harold had Bruno set up tent and start a campfire while he and the girls go to a nearby river to catch fish. He caught one fish and went with Stella and Lyla back to meet with Bruno at the campsite. Harold told Bruno to grill the fish for Stella and Lyla while he goes to caught two more. He went back to the nearby river, caught one fish, and left it next to a nearby tree. Harold caught another fish, but the first fish was missing. Suspecting someone is watching him, Harold decided to go back to camp. Before he can do so, he was attacked by a white Dog. Using his Therian Construct, he transformed into a Wolf to defeat the white Dog by throwing it into the nearby river. Instead of fishing for another fish, Harold decided to return to camp with only one fish. Harold gave the fish to Bruno to start grilling. He did not tell Stella and Lyla about the white Dog because he did not want to worry them. Instead he told Bruno after the girls went to sleep. Harold and Bruno took turns sleeping and keeping watch. In the morning, Harold took the group to the nearby river to catch fish for breakfast. After breakfast, the group went back to Shizi Farm. He decided to go to the nearest house which is the house with the gold-colored door. In front said house, a Metal Spellbomb was thrown from the rooftop by a Monkey. Harold grabbed Stella to avoid the damage of the Spellbomb. Instead of breaking down the door as suggested by Bruno, Harold told Bruno and Lyla to go to the back of the house, climb to the roof, and knock down the Monkey for Bruno to fight. In the meantime, Harold and Stella will stay to keep the Monkey distracted. He and Stella dodged a few Gold Spellbomb from the Monkey while keeping it distracted. After a few minutes of distraction, the Monkey was no longer on the rooftop. Lyla appeared from the rooftop and told Harold and Stella that the Monkey was on the ground fighting against Bruno. Harold and Stella started to go to the back of the house, but a Chicken ran past them. The Chicken attacked Harold and Stella with a Silver Wing. Harold fought against the Chicken while Stella watched on. The Chicken ran away after getting hit by Harold's Leaf Fang. Instead of going after the Chicken, Harold and Stella went to the back of the house to meet up with Bruno and Lyla. Upon seeing Bruno, Harold noticed the Monkey had transformed back into its human form. Harold suggested that Bruno carry the Monkey to a nearby tree to avoid being seen by any enemies. At the nearby tree, Harold questioned the Monkey who is in human form and named Jin. While questioning Jin, Harold revealed to Stella and Lyla that he was attacked by a white Dog last night. Jin revealed the white Dog is his neighbor named Yong, and the two don't get along well. It was also revealed that Jin that the Chicken is his girlfriend. The reason that Jin attacked Harold and his friends is because the Jade Cat told Jin that two foreigners will come to steal his girlfriend. The Jade Cat is the jade-eyes young man that Harold had been searching for. After the questioning, Jin invited Harold and his friends to his girlfriend's house to clear the misunderstanding. Jin's girlfriend is named Yan. At Yan's house, Jin went to look for Yan while Harold and his friends wait in the living room. While waiting, Yan unexpectedly went into the living room and threw a cup at Harold. Apparently, Yan attacked Harold and Stella because she was told by the Jade Cat that two foreign girls will steal her boyfriend. Harold cleared up the misunderstanding. Yan went back to napping and Jin invited Harold and his friends for food. Harold asked Jin where the Jade Cat might had gone to, and Jin answered maybe Putao Mountain. After eating, Harold and his friends went back to the campsite, packed up, and went for Putao Mountain.
Harold arrived in Putao Mountain along with Stella Lily, Lyla, and Bruno at midnight. They slept at an inn. In the morning, they went to local restaurant for breakfast. After breakfast, Harold decided it was okay for Stella and Lyla to hang out while he and Bruno gather information on the Jade Cat. Stella and Lyla left the restaurant first. Two young men wearing long coats entered the restaurant. Harold said to Bruno he will start by asking the waitress, but instead overheard one of the two young men talking about a security meeting. Harold told Bruno to follow one of them while Harold himself will follow the other. The young man that was wearing the blue coat was followed by Harold. The young man in blue coat went to the top of the mountain. Harold watched as the young man in blue coat talked to a maid and a young woman in a black coat. The name of the young man is Zhong, and the young woman is named Shun. Shun noticed that Zhong was followed by someone. Harold transformed into his Wolf form to avoid being seen in his human form. Not wanting to fight a two on one battle, Harold decided to retreat instead. The chase led Harold outside to the front of the snow mountain village. Harold eventually met up with Stella, Lyla, and Bruno. They went back to the inn while avoiding Zhong and the other young man whose name is Lan. At the inn, Zhong and Lan knocked on the door. Harold and Bruno hid while Stella and Lyla answered the door. After answering their questions, Zhong and Lan left. Harold and Bruno left the inn to go after Zhong and Lan. The two cousins went to top of the mountain. The Jade Cat was seen walking out of the house. Harold and Bruno were attacked by the Jade Cat's Spellbomb. Zhong and Lan joined on the attack against Harold and Bruno. This led to a fight between Harold and Bruno versus Zhong and Lan. During the fight, Shun came to the mountain top and battled against Stella and Lyla. The battles were over with Harold, Bruno, Stella and Lyla winning their respective fights. Harold noticed that the Jade Cat was gone during the fights. After the fights, Harold explained the situation with the Jade Cat. Shun calmed down and invited everyone to her house. At the house, Zhong said the Jade Cat is from Longyan Town and that is where he might be. Shun offered lunch to Harold and his friends. After lunch and saying goodbyes, Harold and his friends left for Longyan Town.
Harold arrived at the northern gate of Longyan Town with Stella Lily, Lyla, and Bruno. After passing through security, the group went to the western district for breakfast. While eating at a local restaurant, a little boy came up to Harold and gave him a note. The note said someone is watching them. Deciding to keep the note to himself, everyone went to check in at a local inn. Harold suggested that Stella and Lyla go hang out while he and Bruno try to find the Jade Cat. After the girls left, Harold told Bruno about the note. The plan now is to find the one who wrote the note. The plan was for Harold to follow the girls, and Bruno was follow Harold. This is to lure out the pursuer. The surveillance lead everyone to a theater where a play was being shown. After watching the play, Harold and Bruno concluded that the pursuer was watching Bruno. Harold and Bruno did counter-surveillance to find the pursuer. After figuring out who the pursuer was, they lead the pursuer to the northern residential district. In the northern district, Harold watched as Bruno defeated the pursuer in battle. The pursuer was Yong from Dusk Harvest whom Harold had fought before. Yong said he didn't write the note, and it was probably from the Jade Cat. While questioning Yong, Harold and Bruno learned that the Jade Cat's uncle is the mayor, and the mayor's house is at the center of town. With this information, Harold and Bruno went to the front of the mayor's house, and was confronted by Yuze who was the mayor's assistant. Yuze wouldn't allow the cousins to enter the mayor's house, and said Stella's painting was needed. When Harold tried to open the gate, he was attacked by Jade Cat whose real name was revealed to be Haoran. This led to a battle between Harold versus Haoran and Bruno versus Yuze. The fight was very difficult, but Harold and Bruno ended up winning. After the battle, Harold saw Stella and Lyla in front of the mayor's house with a broken door. Haoran and Yuze regained consciousness, and Harold questioned them inside the mayor's house. Yuze and Haoran explained that Stella's painting was very valuable and can be sold for enough money to finance their town. Harold didn't care about their town problem and took retrieved the painting and left with his friends. Before leaving, Harold punched Haoyu, the mayor, for holding Stella and Lyla hostage. Harold then returned to Stella's hometown along with everyone else. At Stella's house, Harold explained everything while Stella's mom served food. While eating, Stella's mom asked what will Harold do with his future. Harold doesn't know yet and will think about it. After eating, Harold said goodbye to Stella, her twin sister, and Mom, and went home to Thistle Village.
