Lyla Vernon is a minor character who debuted in Dawn Blossom. She is the younger sister of Harold Vernon, and best friend of Stella Lily.
Background
Lyla Vernon was born and raised in Thistle Village. Her family include her older brother Harold Vernon and their cousin Bruno. She is best friends with Stella Lily whom she sees as a sister figure. As a child, she was picked on until Harold and Bruno beat up the boys who bullied her.

Lyla Vernon was at her house with her brother Harold when she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and was excited to see it was her best friend Stella Lily Aron. Stella Lily explained to Harold about her self-portrait being stolen, and the only clue was a turquoise piece of silk cloth. During the explanation, Lyla served drinks to Harold and Stella Lily. Harold deduced that Lizi Woods sells silk and decided to go there to retrieve the painting. Despite Harold saying the trip might be dangerous, Lyla still wanted to go with Stella Lily. For the trip, Harold had their cousin Bruno come along. Lyla, Stella Lily, and Bruno arrived at Lizi Woods with Harold leading the way. Upon arrival, the group ate noodles at a nearby vendor. After eating, Harold suggested that Lyla and Stella Lily find an inn while he and Bruno find information about the stolen painting. Stella Lily and Lyla go to a nearby inn and check in. After checking in, the girls walk around Lizi Woods, and eventually go to a large building that sells silk. Unbeknownst to both girls, they were followed by a young man with spiky hair. While inside the large building that sells silk, she and Stella Lily spend some time and leave due to not being able to afford any of the expensive dresses. The two girls encounter the spiky-haired guy who attacks them. Lyla and Stella Lily easily defeated the spiky-haired guy, and he transformed into a Rabbit and ran away. The girls start to head back to the inn, but saw Harold, Bruno, and Mei along the way. Harold explained that Mei was the thief who stole her self-portrait, and they are heading to the large building to retrieve it. Lyla arrived at the large building with Harold, Bruno, Stella Lily, and Mei. Mei led them into a large room. The party discovered that the self-portrait was stolen. Afterwards, Fen (who was the Rabbit from earlier) barged into the room and panicked when he saw Lyla and Stella Lily. Harold and Bruno deduced that a young man with jade-colored eyes had tricked Mei into stealing Stella Lily's self-portrait and had taken the self-portrait for himself. Stella Lily asked Harold what is the next step. Harold stated they will go to the beach to find the jade-eyed young man. She and Stella Lily slept in the same room at the inn while Harold and Bruno slept together in a separate room. In the morning, she and her friends bade farewell to Mei and made their way southwest to the beach. Unbeknownst to everyone, they were being followed by Fen.
Lyla Vernon arrived in Boluo Beach along with Harold, Stella Lily, and Bruno. Stella exclaimed the weather was hot which Lyla agreed with. She and Stella went to play in the beach water after Harold said he and Bruno would get something for them to eat. Harold and Bruno came back with four plates of grilled shrimp and grilled pineapple with rice. Everyone was surprised because this was their first time eating pineapple. Bruno was about to give Lyla her plate, but a young man wearing a white tank top, brown shorts, and sandals bumped into Bruno. Everyone turned to see the young man run away. While eating, she asked what this fruit was, and Bruno replied the vendor said it called pineapple. After finishing their food, she listened as Harold explained the plan to everyone. They are looking for information about the jade-eyed young man. In order to do this, Harold and Bruno will gather information. Stella asked if she can help, but Harold suggested that Lyla and Stella go play in the beach water. While playing in the beach water, Stella went to far to the ocean which caused the waves to knock her into the water. Since Lyla was behind Stella, both girls ended up falling into the water. Both girls said the water was very salty. Stella suggested that they buy new clothes, so Lyla followed her to look for a clothing store. At the clothing store, Stella said they stand out from the locals, and Lyla agreed stating the locals are tanned. The girls purchased new clothes with the locals staring at them. After this, Stella wanted to do something that they can't do back at home. Eventually, Lyla and Stella saw a few locals playing beach volleyball. Stella suggested that they play, but Lyla pointed that Stella isn't every althetic. Stella said they were playing for fun. Lyla agreed to play beach volleyball as long as Stella does the talking. Lyla and Stella walked up the four locals who were playing beach volleyball, and asked if they can join in the game. The four locals were two boys and two girls. All four locals agreed to play with Lyla and Stella. Lyla did most of the scoring, but she and Stella ended up losing. After the game, she and Stella began to walk around and eventually met up with Harold. Harold led them to an inn. At the inn, Harold ordered two rooms and led the girls to their room. She and Stella waited in their room until Harold to come back. About half an hour later, she and Stella heard a knock on their door. The knock came from Harold who showed up with Bruno. She listened as Harold and Bruno explained to her and Stella the findings. Apparently, Fen from Lizi told Chang that he was attacked by light-skinned foreigners for no reason. Chang believed Harold and Bruno are the attackers. Stella got upset that Fen lied because Stella and Lyla defeated Fen in self-defense. Before the group went to sleep, Harold asked if anyone is hungry, Bruno said he was, and Lyla said Bruno is always hungry. Lyla and the group go outside to eat before going to sleep. Harold ordered four plates of grilled fish and grilled pineapple with rice. While Lyla was eating, she noticed someone was watching them. She and Stella turned to see who it was but the watcher was gone. The next morning, she and Stella woke up around six o'clock. She stopped Stella from going outside in her pajama. After Stella got dressed, she and Stella leave their room. They walked past the receptionist who asked them why they are up so early. Stella realized it was still early, so she decided to go back to their room to sleep. Lyla followed Stella. After an hour of napping, she and Stella leave their room and knocked on Harold's room. Not receiving a reply, the girls realized that Harold and Bruno were gone already. She and Stella then go outside to look for something to eat for breakfast. While looking around the beach, a beaten brown Goat ran past them. A young man then followed after the Goat. The young man was Bruno. Stella wanted to follow Bruno to see the drama unfold. Lyla went along with Stella. Following Bruno led to the front of Chang's and Ming's house. Harold was also there. The Goat ran to Chang and pointed to Bruno and said Bruno was responsible for beating him up. Chang got angry and began to fight Harold. Ming also joined in the fight. Harold didn't want to fight Ming, so he asked Lyla and Stella to fight her instead. In the end, Harold defeated Chang who had transformed into a Snake, and Lyla and Stella defeated Ming who had transformed into a Horse. After the battles, Lyla watched as Harold questioned Chang, Ming, and Kang who was the Goat. During the questioning, Harold learned that the jade-eyed young man went northwest to a farm. Later at the inn, Harold asked Stella whether she wanted to go to the farm now or play in the beach a little longer. Stella said they can go the farm now. Lyla left Boluo along with Harold, Stella, and Bruno.
Lyla arrived in Shizi Farm along with Harold, Stella Lily, and Bruno. Stella looked around and asked Harold where they will sleep. Lyla was confused as to why Stella would like this question. It turned out that there were only three houses and no inn to sleep at. Harold suggested they will camp. Lyla and Stella are excited about this. Harold led the group north of the farm to a nearby river. Bruno set up tents and a campfire while Harold take Lyla and Stella to go fishing. Lyla and Stella watched as Harold caught a fish using a sharpened tree branch. Lyla, Harold, and Stella returned to camp where Bruno had finished setting up. Bruno grilled the fish for Lyla and Stella to share and eat. In the meantime, Harold will go back to the river to catch two more fish. Lyla and Stella were eating their portion of the fish when Harold returned with only one fish. Lyla shared her portion with Bruno and Stella shared hers with Harold. After eating, Lyla and Stella went inside their tent to sleep. In the morning, she and Stella woke up after Harold and Bruno. The group went to the nearby river to fish for breakfast. After breakfast, the group went to the entrance of Shizi Farm. Harold suggested they go to the nearest house and knock on the door. The nearest house is the one with a gold-colored door. In front of the house, a Metal Spellbomb was thrown by a Monkey from the rooftop. Bruno grabbed Lyla to protect her from the Spellbomb. Harold said he and Stella will distract the Monkey while Lyla and Bruno go to the back of the house, climb up, and knock the Monkey down to the ground. Lyla and Bruno proceed to the back of the house. Lyla jumped onto Bruno's shoulders to boost herself onto the rooftop. Upon landing on the rooftop, Lyla proceeded to fight the Monkey, and was hit by a Gold Punch. Bruno got the Monkey's attention. Lyla used this to her advantage and knocked the Monkey onto the ground with her Swift Spellbomb. She watched Bruno defeated the Monkey. Bruno told to tell Harold and Stella to come to the back of the house. Lyla did as Bruno asked. Harold and Stella showed up and Lyla asked Stella did something happened to which Stella answered yes. The Monkey was unconscious and transformed back into his human form. Harold suggested that Bruno carry the Monkey to a nearby tree to avoid being seen by enemies. At the nearby tree, the Monkey woke up and said his name is Jin. Lyla and Stella listened to Harold question Jin while Bruno stood guard. During the questioning, it was revealed to Lyla and Stella that Harold had fought against a white Dog last night. The white Dog is Jin's neighbor and competitor and is named Yong. Jin explained he attacked Lyla and her friends because the Jade Cat said two foreigners will come to steal his girlfriend. The Jade Cat is the jade-eyes young man that Harold and his friends are looking for. The Chicken that attacked Harold and Stella is his girlfriend named Yan. After the questioning, Jin invited everyone to his girlfriend's house which is the house with the silver-colored door. Inside the house, Jin went to look for Yan. While Lyla and her friends waited in the living room, Yan appeared and threw a cup at Harold. Yan glared at Lyla and Stella accusing them of stealing her boyfriend. Jin came back to the living room and helped cleared the misunderstanding. Yan went back to napping. Jin invited everyone to eat lunch. Lyla and her friends learned that the Jade Cat might be heading to Putao Mountain from Jin. After eating, Lyla and her friends went back to the campsite, packed up, and left to Putao Mountain.
Lyla arrived in Putao Mountain along with Stella Lily, her brother Harold, and cousin Bruno at midnight. The group slept at a nearby inn. In the morning, everyone went to eat breakfast at a local restaurant. At the restaurant, Harold said it was okay for her and Stella to hang while he and Bruno gather information on the Jade Cat. While hanging out with Stella, the two girls decided to go shopping for warmer clothing. They ran into a young woman who showed them to a clothing at the second level of the mountain. Inside the clothing store, the young woman introduced Lyla and Stella to the store owner. Lyla and Stella thanked the young woman. After buying long coats at the clothing store, the girls left the store to see a white Wolf, who was obviously Harold, ran down the mountain. Bruno was also there and was observing Lan. Lan left the scene, and Lyla and Stella met up with Bruno. They decided to go meet up with Harold. Uponing meeting up with Harold, the group decided to go back to inn while avoiding Zhong and Lan. Back at the inn, Zhong and Lan knocked on the door and Stella answered their questions. Harold and Bruno decided to go after Zhong and Lan. Lyla and Stella stayed behind at the inn room. A knock was heard and Stella answered. Lyla came to the door after Stella and was surprised to see it was young woman from earlier. Her name is Shun and is the daughter of the village chief. Shun asked Lyla and Stella some questions which they reluctantly answered. Shun had the girls followed her outside to the top of the mountain. Lyla and Stella insisted that they were not there to start trouble and only looking for the Jade Cat. At the top of the mountain, Shun got angry when she saw Zhong and Lan fighting against Harold and Bruno. This caused a fight between Lyla and Stella versus Shun. With their combined effort, they were able to defeat Shun. After the fights, Harold questioned Shun and learned from Zhong that the Jade Cat is from Longyan Town. Shun felt at eased and invited Lyla and her friends for lunch. After eating, everyone head to Longyan Town to continue the search for the Jade Cat.
Lyla arrived in Longyan Town at the northern gate with Stella Lily, Harold, and Bruno. After going through security, everyone went to the central district to get to the west district for breakfast. At the restaurant, everyone ate beef noodle soup. The group checked in at an inn, and Harold suggested she and Stella go hang out while he and Bruno try to find the Jade Cat. Lyla went with Stella to a theater where they watched a play. The play was over, so the girls decided to walk around. The walk led to the central district where they see a mansion. A fat man came out of the mansion and introduced himself as Haoyu the mayor, and knew their names. Stella called him the Yellow Man since he wears yellow clothing. Haoyu suggested Lyla and Stella to spend time with him. Feeling creeped out, the girls decided not to, but were pressured by Haoyu to go along with him. Haoyu led them to the public district. At the public district, Haoyu led the girls to his mayor's office and introduced them to his assistant Yuze. Haoyu told Yuze to handle the administrative duties while he spends time with Lyla and Stella. Later, Haoyu led the girls back to mansion. Inside the mansion, Haoyu told the girls not to open any doors unless he says so. Lyla and Stella waited in the living room while Haoyu went upstairs to change into a yellow night robe. Haoyu asked them if they were hungry and had them grill steaks for everyone. While grilling the steaks, Lyla heard an explosion from outside. She opened the curtains and saw Harold and Bruno fighting against an unknown person and Yuze. The unknown person was Haoran also known as the Jade Cat and the mayor's nephew. Haoyu noticed Lyla and Stella looking outside and went to see for himself. Haoyu ran to the door, but was stopped by Stella. Feeling cornered, Haoyu threw a Stone Spellbomb at Lyla and Stella. The Spellbomb did nothing and the girls threw their own Spellbomb which knocked out Haoyu and destroyed the front door. Lyla and Stella went outside and saw Harold and Bruno winning their respective fight. After the fight, everyone went inside the mansion with the mayor still unconscious. Lyla listened as Haoran and Yuze answered Harold's questions. Stella's painting was retrieved from the mansion, so Lyla and her friends went for Stella's house. At Stella's house, Lyla ate dinner with Stella, Stella's twin sister, Stella's mom, Harold, and Bruno. Finally, Lyla, Harold, and Bruno went home to Thistle Village after saying goodbye to Stella and her family.
