Luminous Sunset

Chapter Four

Harold stands over the purple shirt guy as he is regaining consciousness. As soon as the purple shirt guy's eyes start to blink, Harold gives him a kick of average strength to the stomach.

"Ah!" the purple shirt guy yelled out. "You don't need to do that!"

"Do what?" Harold asked as if he didn't already know the answer. "This?!" He gives another kick.

"Alright, dude! I get it!"

Harold bends down slightly. "Ready to tell me why you're here?"

"I was told to take out the Leaf Wolf and the Rainbow Girl. And you're the Leaf Wolf!"

Harold is surprised. "Leaf Wolf? I haven't heard anyone call me that in a long time. How did you know I was the Leaf Wolf?"

The purple shirt guy starts to stand up, but Harold tells him to stay down. "My boss told me I could find you guys at the inn."

Harold puts his left hand on his chin. "You aren't just talking about yourself. You were with another guy. Where did he go?"

The purple shirt guy shakes his head. "I don't know. I followed after you and now I'm here."

"Who's your boss?"

"Suzette."

"And what does she do?"

"She owns the flower shop."

It all makes sense to Harold now. Last night, he and Edgar were at the flower shop, and Suzette must have overheard them talking and deduced that Harold was the Lead Wolf and he would be able to lead them to the Rainbow Girl.

"Who do you know the Rainbow Girl is?" Harold asked.

"No, if I had to guess, she would be one of the two girls you and your friend were with."

Harold realizes that Stella and Cecilia might be in danger, but he has one last question. "Why did Suzette tell you and your friends to go after me?"

"I really don't know. My friend and I just do what we're told." the purple shirt guy answered.

With that said, Harold leaves the purple shirt guy and makes his way back to the pastry shop hoping that the mother-daughter duo would still be there. But first, he warns the purple shirt guy to not follow him again.

Edgar wipes the blood off his face as he watches the green shirt guy stand up.

"Why are you after me?" Edgar asked.

The green shirt guy scoffs. "Tsk! As if I'm telling you anything." He turns around and starts to walk away.

"Hey!" Edgar shouted. "I'm not done talking to you."

"I don't care! I'm not telling you anything!"

Edgar runs after the green shirt guy and puts his right hand on the latter's shoulder to try and stop him.

"Don't touch me!" the green shirt guy shouted.

"I just have a few questions and then we can go our separate ways."

"We can go our separate ways now!"

"Fine! If you want to play hard," Edgar pulls out his police badge. "I'm with the police. Please! Cooperate and nothing bad will happen to you."

The green shirt looks at the badge and laughs. "You're the police?! Haha! Is that supposed to make me talk? I'm out of here!" He turns and runs off.

Edgar shakes his head in disappointment and puts his badge away. With nothing else to do, he makes his way back to the pastry shop where he thinks Stella and Cecilia should be at.

Cecilia walks to Suzette as she had just complimented her daughter.

"Oh?" Suzette just noticed Cecilia. "You also have saffron-colored eyes." She compares the look of Stella and Cecilia side by side. "Are you ladies sisters?"

Stella shakes her head. "No, she's my mom. I already have a sister that's younger."

Cecilia playfully glares at Stella. "Watch it, dear! I'm still young and I could pass myself off as your older sister."

Suzette pretends to laugh. "Haha! I would have never guessed that you were her mom. I thought you were her older sister by a few years."

"See, dear?" Cecilia said. "Looks like someone understands!"

"I'm Suzette by the way." She extends her right hand.

"I'm Stella and she's my mom. I call her Mom. Your surname is 'by-the-way'?"

Cecilia frowns at her daughter. "No, Lily dear. She's just saying by the way after her name." She shakes her head and looks at Suzette. "I'm Cecilia."

"Nice to meet you both, Cecilia and Stella!" Suzette smiled and turned around to the backdoor. "I have more options in the backyard. Wanna see?"

Stella shrugs. "Sure!"

Suzette leads the mother-daughter duo to the backdoor and opens it for them. Stella and Cecilia walk out to the backyard with Suzette right behind them.

Once outside, Suzette watches as Stella and Cecilia walk around the flower field. After a few seconds, she begins to transform into a mythological dog creature with three heads. The Construct that Suzette just used is called Sprite's Cerberus. The color of the fur is fluorescent orange.

With three heads, each of the heads starts to spit out orange Earth Midrash energy. This attack is called Earth Breath.

Stella and Cecilia hear the sound of an attack coming. They look around to see what it is and are surprised to see a Cerberus starting to attack with Earth Breath.

"What is that?!" Stella exclaimed.

Without much time to dodge, Stella and Cecilia were hit with the Earth Breath. Fluorescent orange earth particles fall onto the ground from the Earth Breath.

Cecilia stands up and throws a black Fire Spellbomb at the Cerberus, but it is canceled out with an incoming Earth Breath from the three heads of the Cerberus.

Stella wipes the dirt off her clothes. She looks around and sees her mom fighting against Cerberus. Seeing her mom fighting against the Cerberus, she throws a Rainbow Spellbomb at one of the three heads.

The left head of the Cerberus turns around and proceeds to attack Stella with an Earth Breath.
