Viridian Wind

Chapter Two

Jasper deactivates his Sura when the police show up. The one in the center is the lead police. Two other policemen show up by his side. One on the right and the other on the left.

"Alright, boys!" the policeman said to his men. "Grab them!"

"But, Arsenio!" said the one on the right side. "I don't see his weapon. It's gone! He could stab me if I get too close!"

Jasper leans to Florian and whispers. "Maybe this is the guy that Orchis was talking about."

"I hope so." Florian whispered back. "We might be going to jail."

The lead policeman whose name was just revealed to be Arsenio smirks at Florian and Jasper. "Don't worry, boys! If he stabs you, I'll kill him!"

Florian tabs Jasper with his elbow. "We should run and lead them to the girls."

"Yeah, good idea!" Jasper said. "In three… two… one NOW!"

The boys start to run to the southern end of town, but the crowd is too tight to squeeze through.

"Don't let them escape!" Arsenio shouted out.

The two policemen quickly run after Florian and Jasper who are not able to go far due to the crowd blocking the escape route.

"Did you guys think you can run away after fighting in public?" Arsenio said.

Jasper laughs a bit. "Oh, we were just kidding. This guy is my friend." He nods towards Florian. "He and I were just rehearsing for a play."

"Yeah," Florian joined in. "Just rehearsing so we can make a play about giving each other moniker."

Arsenio frowns. "What!? You expect me to believe that?" He pushes the boys to the two policemen. "Tie them up and put them in jail."

The two policemen pull out ropes from their pockets and tie up the hands of Florian and Jasper separately.

"Alright," Jasper said. "What's the process here? Do I get to explain my situation to a judge or something?"

"You'll spend time in jail," said one of the policemen. "Then you can explain your story to Judge Zoe. Now move it!"

"Judge Zoe?" Jasper said. "Well, in that case, take us to jail!"

The other policeman looks confused. "Why would anyone want to go to jail?"

Stella and Renee had just watched the situation unfold. They weren't able to hear anything, but it was obvious that the boys didn't bother fighting back and willingly went along with the policemen.

"Let's follow them and see what happens." Stella said.

"It's like they're being kidnapped again." Renee said.

"You know, I realized. Instead of trying to lure out the unknown person, we should have just gone inside his house and confronted him."

Renee's eyes light up. "Oh, yeah! Why didn't we think of that earlier?"

"Too late now. At least we'll know to do that next time. Anyways, let's see where the boys are being escorted to."

Stella and Renee cross the street and follow the group of Florian, Jasper, Arsenio, and the two other policemen.

While following the group, the girls make sure to stay behind to not be seen or noticed. Currently, they are at the southern end of town. The policemen lead the boys to the eastern end and stop at a building. This building looks like a police station.

The girls are across the street from the police station. They watch as the policemen open the door and push Florian and Jasper inside.

"Well," Renee said. "What do we do now? Go inside?"

Stella thinks for a bit. "I'm deciding whether we should go back to the house of the unknown person or go inside the police station." After a few moments, she asks Renee a question. "Do you think the boys can wait in there for us?"

Renee gives a half smile. "I think they can. At least it'll give them time to reflect on their actions."

There are five houses lined in a straight line. As previously observed by Stella, the house of the unknown person is the center one.

There is no window on the left. The girls stay quiet and make their way towards the back of the house. They could see two windows.

The girls press their ears to the wall and slowly begin to look up to check for anyone. No person could be seen and no sound could be heard.

Since there is no sound and the house seems to be empty, the girls proceed to the right side of the house. There is no window on the right side either.

While walking back to the front of the house, a voice can be heard. "Hey, ladies!"

Stella and Renee immediately stop. They recognize that voice. It's the same voice from earlier. They turn around and see a young man with a smirk on his face. He has black hair and brown eyes. His outfit consists of loose shorts, black shoes, and a green and blue striped T-shirt.

"I have been expecting you fine and lovely ladies!" said the now known person. He lets out a laugh. "Haha! Why did you really think your plan would work?"

"What plan?" Stella asked.

"Oh, don't play dumb," the known person smiled. "The plan where you girls tried to lure me out? I noticed you two at my house when I was talking to that Linos guy."

"So what now?" Renee asked. "You want to fight us?"

The known person smirks. "Nope! I'll just go inside my house!" He steps backwards and closes the door.

The girls proceed to walk towards the door, but it opens and an Arrow comes flying straight out and strikes Renee on the shoulder. She screams out in pain. The Arrow was coated with greenish Fire Midrash.

"What was that?" Stella said and pulled Renee to the wall to avoid any further shot.

The Arrow disappears from Renee's shoulder and dissolves into the same greenish Fire Midrash.

Stella is confused. "Was that Arrow made of Midrash?"

"I don't know! But he's dead!" Since Renee's Construct has regeneration ability, the wound on her shoulder starts to heal.

Stella creates a Dark Spellbomb and throws it inside the house. An explosion can be heard. The energy particles from the Spellbomb disperse outside the house.

"Stop!" yelled the known voice.

Renee throws her own Spellbomb inside the window and it explodes into poppy red fire particles. The back door opens and the known guy comes out with a Bow in his left hand and an Arrow in his right hand.
