Dusk Harvest

Chapter Three

Behind the house where the Monkey's on top of, Bruno lowers himself so that Lyla can jump and use his shoulder as a boost to launch herself onto the roof.

Now that she's on the roof, Lyla runs toward the Monkey and jumps into the air, uses her right leg to attack Monkey with a Lightning Kick. The Monkey tanks the hit and is not knocked back. In fact, the kick didn't even damage the Monkey. Following the kick, Lyla jumps back a foot and lands softly on the roof.

The Monkey coats both his fists with Metal Midrash and starts to run towards Lyla. Using its right hand, the Monkey tries to hit Lyla with Metal Punch, but Lyla has already jumped onto the Monkey's head and front flip off its head and landed behind the Monkey.

The Monkey immediately turns around and swings its left fist at Lyla with a Metal Punch. This attack connects and Lyla is hit on her right arm.

"Ack!" Lyla yelled out and stumbled to her left.

Bruno heard Lyla's yell and was concerned. "You okay, Lyla?!"

"Yeah!" Lyla replied and threw an upgraded form of her Lightning Spellbomb at the Monkey. This move is called Swift Spellbomb.

The Spellbomb lands on the Monkey's back and swiftly explodes into yellow lightning particles. This was enough to knock the Monkey onto the ground. She walks to the edge and looks down. The scene below shows the Monkey getting up off the ground and Bruno walking towards the Monkey.

Bruno looks up at Lyla. "Go to the front and tell Harold and Lily to meet here! I'll take care of this."

Lyla goes to the front of the rooftop and sees Stella and Harold on the ground. "Hey! That Monkey is down. Bruno said to meet behind the house."

Harold gives a half smile. "Nice! I knew you could do it! We'll be right there."

Harold and Stella are standing in front of the house and are approached by Lyla from the roof. Lyla informed them that Bruno is waiting in the back of the house for them.

"She did it!" Stella said.

"Yep! Let's go!" Harold said.

Before Harold and Stella can proceed to the back of the house, a Chicken runs past them.

"Huh?" Stella said.

"It's a farm, of course there would be chickens here." Harold said.

Harold and Stella observe the Chicken as it walks around looking for food.

"Hey, Harold! That Chicken doesn't look like the ones we see at home." Stella said. "Maybe it's native to here?"

"You're right, Lily." Harold agreed and looked at the Chicken who was still walking around looking for food. "But we gotta go. Bruno's waiting for us."

"Oh, right!" Stella said.

Harold and Stella ignore the Chicken and start to walk past it. As soon as their backs were away from the Chicken, something attacked them from behind. Both Harold and Stella took the damage. It was the Chicken using its wings to attack the back of Harold and Stella. Silver metal particles glitter from the Chicken's wings. The attack is called Metal Wing. Stella falls onto her knees and then chest. Harold only falls to his knees. He gets up first and helps Stella up.

"Lily! Are you okay?!" Harold asked.

"Ugh… No…" Stella answered, rubbing her rib.

Harold then looks at the Chicken. "I thought it was weird how there was only one Chicken on a produce farm. It wasn't an animal chicken, it was a human with a Therian Construct."

Stella rubs the area where she was just hit. "Ah. It stings here."

"Don't worry. You rest while I take care of that Chicken." Harold said.

The Chicken coats its wings with silver Metal Midrash. This time, its wings have more Midrash energy than earlier. It looks like this attack is an upgraded version of Metal Wing called Silver Wing. With its wings fully coated, the Chicken launches itself towards Stella.

Harold sees this and gets in front of Stella. "Oh no! You're fighting me!" He turns to Stella. "Get to safety while I take care of this Chicken."

Stella quickly gets away from the fighting scene and watches as the fight between Harold and the Chicken unfolds.

Harold begins to transform into his Wolf form.

The Chicken again begins to gather Metal Midrash energy to prepare for another Silver Wing attack.

Harold, in Wolf form, lunges towards the Chicken with his fangs coated in Wood Midrash.

The Chicken jumps towards Harold with the Silver Wing attack. With his mouth still opened, Harold, in his Wolf form, attacks the Chicken with a move called Leaf Fang. Sensing imminent danger, the Chicken immediately gets out of the Wolf's biting range.

After avoiding Harold's Leaf Fang, the Chicken opens up its beak and begins to create a Metal Spellbomb, but Harold quickly lunges towards the Chicken and bites down its tail. The unfinished Spellbomb fails and softly explodes near the Chicken's beak.

The Chicken, instead of turning around to face Harold, decides to run away. It runs towards a house with a silver-colored door. When it reaches said house, it continues to run around and behind the house.

Harold and Stella are no longer able to see the Chicken in their view. The Wolf begins to transform back into his human self.

"Are you okay, Lily?" Harold asked Stella and put his left hand on her right shoulder.

"My rib still hurts, and my dress is dirty, but I'm fine." Stella answered. "What about you, Harold?"

"I'll be fine." Harold said. "I'll buy you a new dress later." He smiles at her and she smiles back and then looks at the house with the silver-colored door. "I believe the people here think that we are the bad guys."

"Yeah, that jade-eyes guy must have said something bad about us."

"I want to follow that Chicken, but we need to get to Bruno first. And it's better if we stick together."

"Okay!"

With that said, Harold and Stella make their way to the back of the house to meet up with Bruno and Lyla.
