Chapter Two

Stella and Lyla had just finished checking in an inn which was a few minutes away from the food vendor. Right now, the girls are walking around the woods looking for something to do.

"Hey look!" Stella said as she pointed to the silk store. "That place looks like a mall. Want to check it out?"

"Sure. Maybe we can see if there are any souvenirs." agreed Lyla.

"Yeah, since we're here, might as well buy something."

Unbeknownst to the girls, they are being followed by a guy with spiky hair. Stella and Lyla go inside the silk store.

Bruno had followed the jade-eyed guy for a while now. The surveillance eventually led him to a remote cottage where he saw the jade-eyed guy go inside.

Right now, Bruno is watching the cottage deciding what to do next. He decides to go to the cottage and knock on the door.

Only one knock and the door opens. The person at the door is not the jade-eyed guy. Instead, it is a shirtless guy in black shorts with black hair and eyes the color of yellow sand.

"Looking for someone?" asked the guy sarcastically.

"Yeah, the person who just went into your house." answered Bruno.

The shirtless guy scoffed. "Heh! Making it obvious, huh?"

The shirtless guy uses his right hand to gather Earth Midrash energy and attacks Bruno in his chest.

Before we continue, let me explain the supernatural power system of this world. The name of this supernatural power is Midrash. Only a small percentage of people can use Midrash. The user gathers energy from within to unleash powerful attacks. Midrash mimics elemental properties. These elements can be Earth, Wood, Water, Fire, Metal, and others. Not all users have the same properties. For example, two users can have Fire Midrash, but the colors of the flames can be different. One user can have red Fire while another can have blue Fire. A user can only have one element of Midrash.

And now back to the fight scene between the shirtless guy and Bruno. The shirtless guy has Earth Midrash, and the attack that he just used is called Earth Spellbomb. His Earth Spellbomb has the properties of yellow sand. Bruno was surprised and smirked.

"Heh! Not bad." Bruno said as he smirked. "You want a fight; I'll give you a fight." Bruno runs up to the shirtless guy and throws a punch with his right hand. The shirtless guy took the hit and was knocked back into his cottage. Another punch was thrown from Bruno, but this time, the shirtless guy blocked it with his own right hand. The shirtless guy uses his right hand to gather energy to create another Spellbomb. He wants to blast Bruno's face with a Spellbomb at point blank range. With the extra length, Bruno was easily able to grab the shirtless guy's right hand with his left hand. He squeezes the right hand of the shirtless guy and pushes it towards the ceiling. The Earth Spellbomb explodes into the ceiling creating a hole in the ceiling. The shirtless guy's face turned angry.

Bruno is still holding onto the shirtless guy's right hand. The shirtless guy violently waves his right hand which causes Bruno to let go.

The shirtless guy jumps up and begins to transform into a yellow serpentine Dragon. He flies through the hole in the ceiling.

This is another supernatural power in this world, and it is called Construct. A Construct is an orb that a person inserts into their heart. The orb is absorbed by the heart of the user and grants the user a special ability. The ability is unique and depends on the Construct itself. The shirtless guy's Construct is called Sprite's Dragon and it allows him to transform into a Dragon. Each Construct is unique and only one kind can exist.

Bruno uses his right hand to gather Water energy to create a Water Spellbomb. He tosses the Spellbomb at the Dragon. The Dragon dodges and creates his own Spellbomb. Bruno's Spellbomb hits the floor and explodes into a blast of rainwater. Several plum trees were knocked back. The Dragon spits out his Earth Spellbomb at Bruno who quickly moves out of the way.

Bruno looks at the Dragon and runs into the cottage.

"Hey! Get out of my home!" cried the Dragon.

"How about you come down here and fight me on land, huh?" Bruno shouted out.

The yellow Dragon continues to fly around the cottage deciding what to do next.

"Well?" asked Bruno.

"Fine..." answered the Dragon.

Bruno waits and does not see the shirtless guy coming in. "Coming in?"

"Inviting me to my own home." said the Dragon as he lowers himself onto the ground and transforms back into the shirtless guy. He starts to walk towards the cottage with his right hand behind his back.

"I just want to ask you something and then I'll leave." Bruno said.

"Whatever." said the shirtless guy. "What's the question?"

"The guy who was just..." Bruno started to talk but stopped when the shirtless guy swung his right hand at Bruno who was able to catch the shirtless guy's right hand with his own left hand. Using his left hand, he redirects the Earth Spellbomb towards the front door. The Spellbomb went into contact with the door and exploded. The explosion from the Spellbomb caused the door to shatter into tiny pieces of wood.

The shirtless guy is surprised that his plan didn't work. At this exact moment, Bruno repeatedly punches the shirtless guy. Multiple punches are thrown. So much that the shirtless starts to bleed from his nose. After taking many punches, the shirtless yells out to stop.

"Ready to talk now?" asked Bruno.

The shirtless guy is too beat up to talk so he just nods.

Harold walks to the western part of the woods and asks the locals for directions to a nice restaurant. The answer that he receives the most is one with a turquoise-colored roof. He goes inside and sits at an available table.

The first thing that caught his attention was the uniform of the servers and waiters. The female servers and waiters were all wearing silk. The thief could be any female server or waiter from this restaurant.

A waitress comes up to Harold. "What would you like to eat?"

"Can I get a menu, please?" Harold asked.

"We serve duck with plum sauce and fish with plum sauce."

"I'll have the duck." Harold said with a smile.

"Okay! We'll have that ready for you." the waitress smiled and walked away to the kitchen.

So far, none of the waitresses is wearing turquoise-colored silk.
